With Juancar

U8 Haus Creative Painting Studio: Beginners is a six-month programme for people without previous experience who want to learn drawing and painting fundamentals, build confidence, and explore their creativity.

Across 12 guided sessions, you’ll learn creative techniques through playful exercises, practical demonstrations and individual guidance from artist Juancar. He provides personal feedback and support throughout the programme.

You’ll explore both observational and experimental approaches to drawing and painting materials, including acrylic paint, charcoal, and markers. You’ll learn how to work with colour and texture, shapes and proportions, and explore composition with practical and intuitive exercises.

Module 1 · Drawing & Painting Foundations
4 sessions · January 12, January 26, February 9 & February 23
Get to know your materials and build a foundation for your creative practice. Through guided exercises, you’ll learn the basics, and gain confidence in drawing and painting.

Module 2 · Colour & Composition
4 sessions · March 9, March 23, April 6 & April 20
Explore colour, shape, texture and composition through a mix of abstract and observational exercises to experiment with different ways of creating images - beyond realistic representation.

Module 3 · Introduction to Figure & Portrait Painting
4 sessions · May 4, May 18, June 1 & June 15
Learn the basics of drawing the human figure and portrait, even if you’ve never tried it before. Through simple observation exercises and playful, intuitive methods, you’ll practise capturing proportions, facial features and body shapes. You will be able to paint the people you see with greater confidence.
