After completing her photography studies in Milan, Gaia V. Marturano (b. 1981, Florence, Italy) worked as a photojournalist for press agencies before relocating to Berlin in 2010, where her focus shifted toward more artistic work and her artistic persona “Klara Bezug” came to life. Beginning with collages and photomontages and later expanding into screen printing, she has approached themes of memory and nostalgia with a playful wit and keen sensibility, adopting also lately a political approach in her artistic practice.
