Is the artist the master of the material, or is the subject shaped by it? What possibilities for meaning emerge in the encounter between body and matter? Which meanings are already embedded within materials themselves, and which arise only through their use and transformation?

At U8 Haus, Material Intimacies explores the sensory, affective, and relational dimensions of materiality. Bringing together diverse artistic practices, the exhibition highlights how meaning takes shape through dynamic exchanges between bodies, objects, and matter.
